The estate includes gorgeous houses with lovely details – their fun, sunlit celebration was followed by an amazing reception amongst wine barrels; how cool is that? 2012 has kicked off to an amazing start for Sphynge Photography – we’re getting published in April, in June; we’ve been chosen at Bride’s Choice Award for 2012… and now we have a new award: Editor’s Choice 2012! That’s an especially awesome award because being published already means you’ve made it past hundreds, sometimes thousands, of other submissions. Being the top 5% of published professionals is really an amazing accomplishment we’re so proud of!

Thank you to our wonderful couples whose love radiates through our lenses, and for your trust and commitment to our vision. We wouldn’t be here with you!

We are so honored that Jessica & Keith’s wedding was featured in Destination I Do! Magazine. This texan couple chose us for their San Francisco celebration – and what a journey it was! We started at the Legion of Honor and continued to China Beach where Jessica and Keith exchanged vows with the Golden Gate Bridge as their backdrop. I hope you’ll enjoy these photographs – we definitely had so much fun taking them! Congratulations Jessica & Keith!

Celebrity shoot | Katrina Patchett | Dancing with the Stars winner

What would you do in Paris? I’d take photographs… and in fact, I had the great privilege of photographing Katrina Patchett, French celebrity and winner of Dancing With the Stars Season 1. Katrina is the most talented dancer, and combines elegance with beauty and humor. She’s so much fun to work with! After winning the prime time show, she’s been spending extra time teaching people across the world how to express their passion through ballroom. Of course, she’s also come back for season 2 and came close to winning a second time! She lost to her competition partner, Maxime Dereymez, who you can see below. But wait… could that mean that I also did a celebrity shoot with season 2 winner? You’ll have to come back to find out…

New product alert: Swirly Frame

We are SO excited to show you the new swirly frame!! When I opened the package (ok… tore it in excitement), I was really impressed. This frame is just gorgeous!

Swirly frames come in 8×10 size and are ready to hang. They feature archival paper and vibrant colors that really make the photograph pop. The frame is whimsical and has volume which really makes a great impression – it casts just enough shadows to call attention to the photograph – “hey look at me, I’m such a cutie!”.

There’s a hanging saw in the back so you can just have one nail on the wall and you’re ready to go – at the bottom of the back you’ll find soft pads so that the frame itself doesn’t touch the wall, and so that the frame stays nice and straight vertically (no weird bending on the bottom). I love the look of this new frame – and I’m sure it’ll look as badass in your house

What a ridiculous year it’s been already! We’ve won an award, gotten into a wedding print magazine… how can it get better?

Friday I get a chat – “Congrats on being featured by Blurb in their newsletter for Valentine’s Day!!”. What? Our book was chose among hundreds of thousands?? Seriously? Yes, seriously. The Blurb staff chose Gina & Luke’s wedding guest book as an example to all their customers. We’re so honored!

2011 was a pretty fantastic year for Sphynge Photography – we had amazing clients and astounding success, thanks to you

We also had incredible editorial success. Looking back at the list, it just seems ridiculous, insane, and mindblowing… we were published 31 times! T-h-i-r-t-y — O-n-e!!!

We’re off to a great start in 2012 with 2 features in January, and a PRINT feature coming on the stands in June. Can’t wait to give you the details! In the meantime… here’s our full 2011 roster:

WE WON!

When I woke up this morning and got the email, I tried to refrain from jumping up and down, dancing all over, and hugging anything that came my way… and then I realized, why wouldn’t I??

A deep, heart-felt thank you to all our amazing clients in 2011. We had some amazing couples who we now consider family. We laughed, we cried, we laughed even harder, and we did it for you.
